In Mali, donkeys represent a disappearing way of life. For generations they’ve played a crucial role as transportation between rural farms, villages and markets.

Women sell their produce via donkey drawn carts. But today their survival is being threatened.

Desperate for a means of living, some communities have started butchering donkeys for the trade in fur.

Donkeys are slow to reproduce, which represents a significant investment for a community to raise. So ADERCOV mobilises to disrupt these exports by providing alternative sources of income such as community gardens.
